Studying
Pierangelo Moro studied in Italy at the Polytechnic University of Milan, in the Faculty of Architecture, as well as at the Helsinki University of Technology.
Getting to know Russia
While studying at the University of Helsinki, Pierangelo Moro was captivated by the architecture of the city, built by the German architect Carl Ludvig Engel under the direction of Johan Albrecht Ehrenström, who was responsible for the construction of the Grand Duchy of Finland at the request of Tsar Alexander I of Russia. Curiosity led Pier to make his first student trip to Russia — to Saint Petersburg — in 1994, and to discover the grandeur of a city built, as it happens, by Italian architects.

From theory to practice
In Finland Pierangelo Moro met a Milanese architect who persuaded him to return to Milan. There, over fifteen years, he designed projects for major Finnish multinationals such as Outokumpu, UPM-Kymmene and Nokia, as well as large private residences, commercial buildings and public facilities for various municipal administrations.

University experience
In those years Pierangelo was assistant to Professor Guido Nardi, dean of the Faculty of Architecture at the Politecnico di Milano. Together they organised many architecture exhibitions in Italy and abroad and took part in organising international conferences from 1998 to 2004 in cooperation with the publishing house BE-MA.

International competitions
In 2003 Pierangelo took part in international architecture competitions led by the architects Stefano Boeri and Rem Koolhaas, among them the competition for the high-speed railway station at Afragola, Naples. He was the link between the designers and the London firm OVE ARUP, responsible for the engineering side of the project. The competition was won by Zaha Hadid.

Point of view
The experience gained at architecture exhibitions and professional conferences made Pierangelo an expert in communication. In 2007 he began working in television as co-author and presenter of a programme about Milan («Point of view» — Big City Life).

A major project
In 2008 Moro took part in a large residential project led by Philippe Starck in Saint Petersburg. In the same year he began his architectural practice in Russia, in Moscow.

Another opinion
In 2009 Pierangelo Moro was invited to Moscow as author and presenter of the television programme «Another opinion» on the Expert TV channel. The episodes were devoted to doing business in the Russian Federation.

An Italian start-up in Russia
In 2012 Moro took the lead of the major Italian decorative lighting manufacturer Axo Light. In 2013 he launched the company's start-up on the Russian market, opening an office in Moscow, and headed it until 2015.

Rostov-on-Don
From 2015 to 2021 Pierangelo Moro lived in Rostov-on-Don, Moscow, Vicenza, Milan and Mexico City, managing architecture and interior projects mainly for Russian clients. In those years he worked on Bosco Casa in the Petrovsky Passage in Moscow, General Sokolov's dacha on the Black Sea, Hurston House in London, the TSUM building in Krasnodar, Villa Santa Margherita and Villa Amalfi at the golf club in Gelendzhik.
Moscow
Since 2021 Pierangelo Moro has lived mainly in Moscow. From 2022 to 2024 he was a senior lecturer at the HSE Art and Design School, teaching business processes in design using the design algorithm he developed in 2017. At the end of 2024 he decided to develop the technology start-up Design Algorithm Application, which included an educational project that later became the present Design Algorithm Academy, whose aim is to develop design management in Russia.
